Tenebrae is the Latin word for darkness or shadows and is a traditional service for Thursday, Friday and Saturday of Holy Week.  It is traditionally conducted as evening falls and contains a mixture of music including traditional Good Friday hymns set, this year, to more modern hymn tunes.  There are a number of bible and poetry readings to help us focus on the crucifixion and salvation.  It is a very beautiful service which end with the slamming of a door to symbolise the closing of the tomb of Jesus.
